Harvest Festival preparations underway

Harvest Festival preparations underway

With the chill in the air this week and preparations for Harvest Festival underway in the various sections of school, Autumn has definitely arrived! Each year the boys and The Friends of Dulwich Prep London deliver nearly 50 Harvest Gift Boxes to various Senior Citizens living in sheltered accommodation in the local area.

We match every Senior Citizen to a class so that they can receive their own personal box and card from the boys. Your boys will have chosen one item to bring in from a tailored list. The deadline for that is 5th October. Parents have, as ever, always been very generous in their donations, and we make sure any extra food items not required for the boxes are given to local food banks. (If you can help, please remember to check ‘best by’ dates – if it is not best before October 12th, we cannot deliver it).

Each year we rely on parents kindly volunteering half an hour of their time to help deliver the harvest gifts. If you are interested in helping, please contact Rebekah Edwards via the school website: http://www.dulwichpreplondon.org/The-Friends-of-Dulwich-Prep
