Year 7 French Football Tour

Posted: 2nd November 2016

Our annual football tour to France took place from the 13th to 15th of October, and for 12 Year 7 boys it was the chance to have a glimpse into the life of a professional football player.

Amiens Sporting Club invited us to spend Friday afternoon in their football academy, where the boys were very lucky to visit the Academy itself and be guided by one of their U17 students. We then visited the stadium, where the boys were impressed and inspired by the changing rooms and the path leading to the pitch.

Following the visits, we played against their U12 team, and after a very tight first half (3-3) we conceded a loss in the second half.

It was then time to drive to Saint-Germain-en-Laye and get ready for our second fixture against PSG. After a shy start maybe due to the renowned opponent, boys finished well, but conceded a loss against a talented team of PSG.

For our second fixture of the day, we headed to Villennes where the boys, despite the fatigue, managed to come back from 2-0 down and achieve a draw.

As every year, we received a very warm welcome from both Amiens SC and PSG, and we are now looking forward to welcoming Amiens SC at the Prep later on this year.
