The Concert Hall reverberated to possibly the loudest noise it has ever been subjected to as two children’s authors whipped their audience into an excited frenzy last Friday. Greg James and Chris Smith are popular radio presenters who clearly know how to engage an audience, and our Year 5 and 6 boys, together with the Year 4, 5 and 6 children from Dulwich Wood Primary, were hanging on their every word. Greg and Chris are passionate about their relatively new role as best-selling children’s authors, and their books – about Kid Normal, an ordinary boy who is accidentally enrolled in a school for superheroes – are funny and inspiring in equal measure. The queue of children buying their books after the event suggests we will have some very happy readers for a while!
