Big Band play at JAGS Charity Night

Posted: 29th March 2017

Link Age Southwark (formerly the Dulwich Help Line) is a vibrant South London charity providing friendly volunteer support to over 500 isolated, older people in Southwark.  For a number of years now, the boys of the Big Band have participated in a fund-raising evening of jazz music held in the Holst Hall at JAGS.  Dulwich Prep is the only prep school involved and the boys played alongside groups from such schools as Kingsdale, St Olaves, JAGS, Alleyn’s and Dulwich College.

The standard of music from all the groups was as impressive as ever and the Big Band rose to the occasion in magnificent style with four pieces that had the whole audience clapping along and cheering soloists.  Mr Street’s well-chosen programme showed that the Band is comfortable with several different styles of music and whilst at home with the ‘Libertango’ the boys were also clearly ‘Born to be Wild’.

Thanks to the accompanying staff but especially the boys for giving up their time and playing so well at this very busy stage of the term.    Bravo the Big Band.

Dulwich Prep & Senior Announcement

We are delighted to share that we will be extending our provision from ages 3-13 to ages 2-16. Our first Year 9 cohort will start in September 2025.

As a highly commended school at this year’s Independent School of the Year Awards, we are excited to share that we will become Dulwich Prep & Senior.

We will continue to be a school of choice, maintaining our exceptional Prep offering with the option of staying to GCSE. Our support of families in finding the right senior school or sixth form at the right time for their sons will remain at our core, whether that be at ages 11, 13 or 16.

Our key entry points will be Nursery, Reception, Year 3, Year 7 and Year 9. Occasional places may be available in other year groups.

If you would like your son to be one of our ‘Trailblazers’ and join Year 9 in 2025 or 2026, please get in touch with our Admissions Department for further details.
