Head Master's Art Competition

Posted: 22nd November 2019

In collaboration with the Art department our Head Master, Miss Louise Davidson, is inviting pupils from all sections to submit a piece of artwork for an internal competition.  The theme for the competition on this occasion will be ‘Spring’ and pupils are being encouraged to consider the school value of ‘Love’.  The Head Master, along with the Art department and selected staff members, will choose a winner from each section and so there will be 5 pieces selected in total, one from Early Years, Pre-Prep, Lower School, Middle School and Upper School.  The winners from each section will have their work put on display in the Head Master’s office and will receive official recognition in assembly. All entries will be displayed for an exhibition, the date to be confirmed.

Competition guidelines:

The work submitted must be completed on a flat surface and can use any medium(s), for example drawing, painting, printmaking, collage, digital editing or photography.  Work must be a minimum of A3 and a maximum of A2 size.  This should be done at home and could be an extension or adaptation of a class project.

The piece of work can contain any form of subject matter such as portraiture, landscape, still life or be a piece of abstract art.  You may wish to include a short piece of writing with your work to explain how it follows the theme of ‘Spring’ and ‘Love’.

Entries can be submitted after the Christmas holiday and should be received no later than Monday 13th January 2020:

Middle and Upper School entries should be delivered to the Upper School Art room office.

Lower School entries to be delivered to their class teacher.

Pre-Prep entries should be delivered to the Pre-Prep reception.

Early Years entries should be delivered to the Early Years reception.

Winners and special mentions will be announced early next term after the submission deadline and work will go up on display shortly after.

Should you have any questions, please email the Head of Art, Mr Robinson (c.robinson@dulwichpreplondon.org).

Dulwich Prep & Senior Announcement

We are delighted to share that we will be extending our provision from ages 3-13 to ages 2-16. Our first Year 9 cohort will start in September 2025.

As a highly commended school at this year’s Independent School of the Year Awards, we are excited to share that we will become Dulwich Prep & Senior.

We will continue to be a school of choice, maintaining our exceptional Prep offering with the option of staying to GCSE. Our support of families in finding the right senior school or sixth form at the right time for their sons will remain at our core, whether that be at ages 11, 13 or 16.

Our key entry points will be Nursery, Reception, Year 3, Year 7 and Year 9. Occasional places may be available in other year groups.

If you would like your son to be one of our ‘Trailblazers’ and join Year 9 in 2025 or 2026, please get in touch with our Admissions Department for further details.
