Nursery Nativities

Nursery Nativities

Our Nursery nativities are a Dulwich Prep tradition that date back many years and have become an integral part of Early Years.  Our youngest boys and girls gently retell the story of Jesus’s birth through a mixture of acting and song. This year’s nativities were no exception, many a proud parent watched as their child sung wither a solo or in a little group. We watched as the angel Gabriel told Mary, ‘You’re going to have a baby’ and Mary replied with the song ‘I’m so happy the angel came to me’.  She and Joseph made the long journey to Bethlehem to the tune of ‘It’s a long way on a donkey’ and then were rejected at several inns, as the innkeepers sang ‘No room, no room at the inn.’ Later in the performance once baby Jesus had safely arrived, he was visited by an assortment of shiny stars, shepherds in tea towels and colourful kings. All the children performed wonderfully and few parents were left with dry eyes by the end.
