The Great Fire of London!

The Great Fire of London!

Last week the Year 2 boys were transported back through time to experience London in 1666 as they recreated life in Pudding Lane on the eve of the Great Fire of London with the help of the Freshwater Theatre Company.

The children explored what life was like for residents of London at that time, the causes of the fire and its aftermath. They particularly enjoyed becoming the fire, using ribbons of orange, red and gold, and seeing how it grew and spread.

They also met the famous diarist Samuel Pepys and were shocked to learn that one of his most precious possessions that he buried to save from the fire was a block of Italian cheese!
