Fees & Bursaries

Fees Per Term Effective 1 September 2023

Our school fees cover normal curriculum tuition, lunches, most clubs, activities and day trips, special education needs provision and counselling. In Years 3 to 8, fees also cover the cost of one term-time residential trip each year.

Early Years Nursery and Reception £5,375
Pre-Prep Years 1 and 2 £6,135
Lower School Years 3 and 4 £6,960
Middle and Upper School Years 5 to 8 £7,795
Registration Fee (non-returnable) £125

The registration fee applies to the year of entry you are registering for. If you withdraw or are unsuccessful in gaining a place in that year but wish to apply for entry at a different point, a new registration fee will be required.

Upon accepting an offer to join the school, a non-returnable deposit of £1,850 is required to secure and confirm your child’s place. The deposit will be offset against the pupil’s final term’s invoice.

Contract For Educational Services

Bursaries

We offer a limited number of means-tested bursaries to new applicants entering Year 3 or above who would otherwise not be able to afford to come to Dulwich Prep London. These pupils are academically gifted boys who have the aptitude to benefit from the school’s varied opportunities.

Applications for bursary places should be made by the registration deadline in mid-November, the year prior to entry. Applicants will be invited to attend an assessment at which they will complete a number of tests and an interview. To make an application, please complete the form below.

Bursary Application Form

In addition to the application form, parents must complete a confidential statement of financial circumstances, which requests full details of income and capital resources. Before the offer of an award, a home visit will be made to discuss these details.

Bursaries are reviewed annually and may be adjusted or introduced if parents’ circumstances change during a pupil’s time at the school.

Additional Costs

Music Tuition

The respective teachers charge individual instruction at £22.50 per lesson. There are usually 30 lessons per year. If a pupil needs to hire a school instrument, please contact the Music Department directly. There will be a separate charge for the hire.

Uniform

School Uniform is purchased directly from our supplier Thomas Schoolwear and is not included in our termly fees.

Wrap Around Care

Our Wrap Around Care provision ‘@38’ is available from 7.00am to 7.30pm and is not included in our termly fees.

Dulwich Prep & Senior Announcement

We are delighted to share that we will be extending our provision from ages 3-13 to ages 2-16. Our first Year 9 cohort will start in September 2025.

As a highly commended school at this year’s Independent School of the Year Awards, we are excited to share that we will become Dulwich Prep & Senior.

We will continue to be a school of choice, maintaining our exceptional Prep offering with the option of staying to GCSE. Our support of families in finding the right senior school or sixth form at the right time for their sons will remain at our core, whether that be at ages 11, 13 or 16.

Our key entry points will be Nursery, Reception, Year 3, Year 7 and Year 9. Occasional places may be available in other year groups.

If you would like your son to be one of our ‘Trailblazers’ and join Year 9 in 2025 or 2026, please get in touch with our Admissions Department for further details.
