The Year 6 residential to York took place between the 28th February and the 5th March. The boys were split into two groups, with the first group spending Sunday to Wednesday in York before swapping with the second group who spent Wednesday to Saturday away. The trip is one of the highlights in the Year 6 calendar and a trip that seems to be always remembered by Old boys due to the variety of fun excursions that take place.
We were blessed with beautiful blue skies, a snow blizzard and a visit of the world famous Flying Scotsman to the National Railway Museum. The boys enjoyed lots of activities from siege warfare to a Ghost walk around York. “Wackers” fish and chips was a great treat with some enormous fish being served.
There were many comments made about the wonderful manners and behaviour of our boys, both at the hotel and the places we visited. My huge thanks goes to both the boys and the staff for making the trip such a huge success.
