Pre-Prep Plant Space Seeds!

Posted: 26th April 2016

The Rocket seeds have returned from space! The Pre-Prep boys had a science packed week, starting with Miss Bellos and Mrs Whitehead giving an assembly on germination and conditions needed for growth, followed by planting all 200 rocket seeds.

The seeds arrived in two unmarked packets, one having been into space and the other having remained on Earth. Over the next six weeks they will record data, predict, draw conclusions and finally interpret their results.

Which packet went to space? Which seeds have been affected by cosmic radiation and microgravity?

The boys have had a fun time taking part in this scientific study organised by the RHS and the Space Agency. Once all the results from schools across the nation are collated and analysed by professional biostatisticians, only then will they announce which packet was which! We can’t wait!
