Wye oh why?

Canoe and camping on the banks of one of the UK’s most beautiful rivers sounded like the perfect way for 32 Year 8 boys to spend a week in the British summer.

Lazily paddling from campsite to campsite, pitching our tents in the warm evening sunshine, cooking our meals alfresco, playing a game or two, crawling in to our sleeping bags and enjoying an undisturbed night’s sleep.

Why oh why hadn’t the weather read the script? Torrential rain every day, storms at night, an incredibly fast-flowing river and makeshift cooking shelters weren’t really in the plan.

Did that spoil the trip?.. Not for a moment!
