We had a fantastic morning of tribe football last weekend when both the Year 7 and Year 8 groups put their skills on show.
The year 7 tribes were exceptionally competitive where the boys combined flair, tenacity and the desire to ensure their tribe came out on top. However, the over-riding feeling was one of enjoyment as each boy seemed to relish the chance to play for his tribe and we were very impressed with the sportsmanship and team spirit displayed by all the boys. Very evident was the impressive depth of talent we have in the year group. Well done to Ojibwas who were overall tribe champions in Year 7.
The Year 8 tribe tournament was played in great spirit. Mixed ability teams and a tournament type format meant that a tribe could effectively get both its teams into the finals. This saw the stakes raised even higher as the result of each match for both teams suddenly counted that much more. Some superb early season football and just the general enjoyment by the players and spectators alike, made this a fantastic morning’s football. Well done to Chippeways who were the overall winners.
A very big thank you to catering staff, ground staff, teachers and parents for all your support.
