Last Saturday seven of the UK’s rugby playing schools gathered at the immaculately prepared fields on Gallery Road. A round robin was played with all teams playing each other once. During the round robin matches, bonus points were awarded to teams who scored four tries or more in a match. A bonus point was also awarded if a team lost within one score of their opposition.
Some superb sevens rugby was displayed. Many positive comments were made by parents and referees alike about the quality of play on the day. Well done boys!
Moulsford walked away with the trophy for the unbeaten team on the day. Felsted were awarded the team award for amounting the most bonus points of the day.
Every coach also chose his player for the day. These boys were awarded with a ‘Team MVP’ plaque and a pair of green RFU laces. This is to show that this particular player has displayed the RFU Core rugby values of Teamwork, Respect, Enjoyment, Discipline and Sportsmanship.
A great tournament played in a great spirit. A perfect lead up the National School Sevens Tournament taking place at Rosslyn Park on Friday 24th March.
