Headmaster’s assemblies on Fridays always include a ‘musician of the week’. Last Friday Xavier joined Mr Street in an accordion duet. Mr Street is fresh from his stint as on onstage musician in the Chichester Festival Theatre’s production of Fiddler on the Roof, starring Omid Djalili. Xavier played the haunting theme which opens the entire show. Mr Street joined in and taught the boys of Middle and Upper School a song called Tradition – the chorus number which begins the show. Xavier maintained the ‘Fiddler’s’ leitmotif throughout. As our only accordionist in School, Xavier began our musician of the week series in fine style. Thanks also to Mr Street for playing the boys out with To Life – another huge number from the show.
