"I'm the King of the Castle.."

Posted: 28th November 2017

Never has this song been more appropriate then when the Year 1 boys reached the top of Rochester Castle and were treated to breathtaking views over the Kent countryside and Medway River.  Rochester Castle is an incredible example of defensive architecture and the boys thoroughly enjoyed seeing the towering walls, crenellations, arrow slits and battlements.  Visiting the castle and walking up the spiral staircases really helped the boys imagine what it would have been like to defend the castle and how difficult it must have been to attack it!  The boys were also treated to a heraldry workshop within the beautiful Rochester Cathedral and explored the local museum. It was one of many highlights last week which culminated in a Knights and Castles Dress-Up Day.
