Old Boys' Reunion in Oxford

Posted: 7th March 2018

Following last term’s reunion of old boys currently studying in Bristol, Cardiff and the South West, last Sunday five staff including Michael Roulston, Headmaster and Ann Revell, Archivist, headed to Oxford. Twelve old boys who are studying at Oxford or Oxford Brookes met for Sunday roast lunch which made for a very convivial afternoon full of stories, laughter and memories. It was an excellent chance for the old boys across four years at university to meet up themselves as our old boy network continues to grow. The old boys are reading a wide variety of subjects including Law, Arabic, PPE, Classics, Chemistry, Biology, History and Anthropology .They shared fond memories of their time at the Prep, reminiscing about teachers, lessons, buildings, sport, music and of course, the Prep trips. It was fascinating hearing about their time at senior school and university (life both in and out of lectures and tutorials) and their hopes for the future. It was clear that they look out for each other and are in contact with many of their peer group across the country. We enjoyed a short historical trip around central Oxford afterwards taking in some Reformation sites and university history, as well as old buildings with more modern stories such as where Bob Hawke, Bill Clinton and Inspector Morse spent some of their time!

Future visits are being planned to The North East (Durham, Newcastle and Edinburgh) and Cambridge.

To any parents whose sons are about to go to University or are at university now, please ask your sons to make sure they are registered with the old boys. Please email Richard Bernhard at alumni@dulwichpreplondon.org to ensure that we can contact them easily about future events.
