On Saturday 7th July, as most of England woke up in anticipation of the World Cup Quarter Final, 30 eager sailors travelled to southern France. For one week the boys camped and sailed in perfect conditions. The July heatwave which gripped Europe felt bearable when sitting in a ‘Laser 2000’ zipping around a lake with strong and steady winds catching the sail. The trip, which is open to any boy in Years 5-8, saw many returnees and all progressed several levels in the Royal Yacht Association scheme. Other highlights from the week included cooling off in one of Europe’s largest water parks, taking part in a muddy survival run and daily tent inspections.
