Potatoes and yellow courgettes for lunch!

Posted: 25th September 2018

eco-2

Harvest came a little early to school this week. Our Eco Club dug up potatoes and picked yellow courgettes, cobra and borlotti beans and cherry tomatoes which they had planted earlier this year. The boys really enjoyed getting dirty and tasting everything before they handed it all over to Mr Burton and our catering staff.

Our kitchen devised a menu around the fruit and vegetables and served them up as various salads for the boys in Pre-Prep and Lower School and the staff that week. It was lovely to see the boys (and staff!) being adventurous and trying foods some had never eaten before. Inspired on by success, the boys are keen to plant more and expand our gardening areas in school to produce a home-grown seasonal menu for the whole school to try throughout the year.
