Southwark Cathedral will, once again, be the setting for the Spring Choral Concert. The Lower School Voices, Senior Choir and Chamber Choir will join the adults of the Choral Society for a choral celebration on Wednesday 27th March at 7.30pm. Under Mr Brooke’s baton, the boys will also be joined by professional soloists including current Prep parent and renowned lyric soprano, Kate Royal. Our own Mrs Chambers will be performing as the contralto soloist. The invited orchestra will include several of the boys’ instrumental teachers and will be led by Mr Adrian Dunn. The central work for the evening will be the iconic Requiem by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. This most famous of choral pieces will work splendidly in the Cathedral’s majestic setting. We shall also hear Verdi’s Chorus of the Hebrew Slaves, from the opera Nabucco, which remembers the Israelites on the banks of the Euphrates, lamenting their lost homeland. There will also be a contribution to the evening with a definite Irish flavour… an event not to be missed.
