Cross Country Running is back!

Posted: 13th February 2019

CC-2

The Cross Country season is well and truly underway.  The term started with Tribe Cross Country events for Years 3-8 within the first two weeks.  This was a great way to kick-start the season with some superb individual and team performances.  It also gave the Sports Department a chance to challenge the boys and to help select teams for the Cross Country events.  Last week our Year 7 and 8 team represented the school at the London Schools’ Cross Country Championships at Wormwood Scrubs.  James finished 7th in the Junior A race and then went straight over to the finishing funnel to support his team mates, a true team player in all aspects.  James will now run in the English Schools’ Cross Country Championships in Leeds on Saturday 16th March and we wish him all the best with this.  The team finished an impressive 6th out of 24 schools which is an excellent result.  (Junior A Team included James, Shaylan, Oscar, Jago, Caspian and Max).  All runners would have gained invaluable experience from this competition.  In the Junior B race the Year 7 boys tackled the course with confidence and conviction.  Again, the team finished 6th overall out of 22 schools.  Christopher finished 10th, running one of his best ever races since being at the Prep.  (Junior B Team included Christopher, Nate, Luke, Hugo and Kieran).  We are all very proud of their achievements and can’t wait for the next event which will be on 14th February at the Southwark Schools Inter Borough Championships.  We also have more events taking place after half term which will give our younger boys a chance to get involved and this will help build the future of running at the school, promoting and pushing the benefits of running outdoors.

Dulwich Prep & Senior Announcement

We are delighted to share that we will be extending our provision from ages 3-13 to ages 2-16. Our first Year 9 cohort will start in September 2025.

As a highly commended school at this year’s Independent School of the Year Awards, we are excited to share that we will become Dulwich Prep & Senior.

We will continue to be a school of choice, maintaining our exceptional Prep offering with the option of staying to GCSE. Our support of families in finding the right senior school or sixth form at the right time for their sons will remain at our core, whether that be at ages 11, 13 or 16.

Our key entry points will be Nursery, Reception, Year 3, Year 7 and Year 9. Occasional places may be available in other year groups.

If you would like your son to be one of our ‘Trailblazers’ and join Year 9 in 2025 or 2026, please get in touch with our Admissions Department for further details.
