Rare are the occasions when you will see Deerfeet working closely with Ojibwa, and Chippeway so closely partnered with Mohican but, in support of Children’s Mental Health Week, even the Tribe Chiefs set aside their differences in order to compete in the latest Prep Bake Off!
Mrs Steyn had created a simple, delicious recipe for the Tribe Chiefs to tackle, so in front of 400 boys plus staff, Miss Bishop joined Messers Adams, Gordon and Halls to prepare the chocolate and coconut bites. Mr Roulston and Mrs Steyn were very willing judges, and in true Paul Hollywood & Pru Leith (or Mary Berry if you prefer) style, the expectations were high, considering texture, weight, presentation and uniformity as well as taste. ‘Healthy Inside and Out’ was the message for Children’s Mental Health Week this year and the Bake Off provided a fun-filled way to demonstrate the ease with which a quick and easy treat can be prepared; one that is tasty yet full of healthy ingredients. The winners? Well that wasn’t as important as the teamwork and cooperation… but Mohicans and Chippeways had it!!
