Last Friday the Lower School boys enjoyed a celebration of the STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Mathematics) curriculum. Year 3 was full of ‘mad’ scientists delighting their classes with volcanoes, slime, shooting rockets and musical instruments. In Year 4, whilst there were still many science experiments, the boys also learnt about some of the paintings of Picasso, the first steam engine, the construction of Sydney harbour bridge and how to make the perfect paper aeroplane. The Lower School boys also enjoyed a special Assembly from Ms Bellos, Head of Science at the Prep, who thrilled the boys with experiments involving many pops, whizzes and bangs.
