Jump out of a Book Day

Posted: 25th September 2019

On Friday 20th September who should arrive in Early Years but lots of different story book characters for the Reception boys’ special ‘Jump out of a book’ day. We had gruffaloes, knights, crocodiles and dinosaurs, several Zogs and a very dashing fantastic Mr Fox and many more imaginary characters. Our Reception teachers performed a mixed up fairy tale for assembly which included, parts taken from the stories of ‘Goldilocks’, the ‘Three Little Pigs’ and ‘Red Riding Hood’.

The boys enjoyed a roundabout of exciting activities which took them into every Reception class.  Each class focused on a story with a related activity.  In Purple Class the boys listened to ‘Jack and the Beanstalk’ and planted beans, in Blue Class they decorated gingerbread biscuits for the little gingerbread man, they made bridges for the ‘Three Billy Goats Gruff’ to cross and acted out the story of the ‘Three Little Pigs’. A fun day was had by all.
