Great whoops of delight could be heard in the Pre-Prep playground as the Great Fire of London was re-enacted last week. The boys in Year 2 had busily constructed their beautiful Tudor houses, only for them to be burnt to ashes in seconds. We demonstrated the effect of creating a break in the path of the fire by moving the houses apart, so that the fire could not travel. The wind showed the boys how fast the flames could move and set light to each building. Then finally, Mrs Whitehead acted as a fire fighter and transported water from the Thames (cloakroom!) to assist with putting out the flames!
