DPL has, for the 2nd time, entered pupils in Years 7 and 8 for the Townsend Warner History Prize for prep schools, a historical tradition in its own right now celebrating 135 years of friendly competition. Five of our children have successfully made it through the gruelling first paper, meaning they have finished in the top 250 places out of over 1000 entrants nationwide for this prestigious trophy. Competing against the likes of Westminster Under, KCS Junior, the Dragon and Port Regis, this is a fine achievement; even taking part requires fortitude and no little knowledge of topics ranging from the Celts to the Falklands. Of particular note, Freddie in Year 7 is currently lying in 8th place overall, no mean feat when most children taking part are a year older than him.
