Buddy's Big Workout

Posted: 12th March 2020

NSPCC-3

Well done and thank you to all of the Dulwich Prep London boys and staff who helped to raise money for Buddy’s big workout for the NSPCC.

A wonderful week of fun fitness with dance and tribe workouts took place to raise awareness with the message to ‘stay safe and speak out’.

Each boy from Year 3 to Year 8 joined in with a mass HIIT (high intensity interval training) session with the Games and PE staff, think Mr Motivator style; a wonderful event which showed the true spirit and togetherness of the school.

The PE staff also helped the boys to understand the importance of hydration, diet, sleep, health and wellbeing through an open Q&A session.

The boys also completed dance offs against each other to earn tribe slips and bragging rights in the sports hall. Some unbelievable shapes were thrown and terrific break dancing to boot; a wonderful life skill for any future family party!

In the lower school, Mr Stevens gave a dance masterclass to the boys where they learnt to replicate movements and shapes to different tunes.

A great effort was made by the staff to dress up for the occasion, too. Leg warmers were a must!

The Great British 100m sprinter Chad Miller then joined us on Thursday to run our sessions. The Tokyo 2020 Olympic hopeful loved the energy and fun our boys brought to the event.

Chad passed on his wonderful words of wisdom to help our boys on their sporting ventures. He told them to chase their dreams and to set goals for the future. He also told them that during injuries or setbacks: “in your hardest times, that’s when you elevate!”

We will continue to be a school of choice, maintaining our exceptional Prep offering with the option of staying to GCSE. Our support of families in finding the right senior school or sixth form at the right time for their sons will remain at our core, whether that be at ages 11, 13 or 16.

Our key entry points will be Nursery, Reception, Year 3, Year 7 and Year 9. Occasional places may be available in other year groups.

If you would like your son to be one of our ‘Trailblazers’ and join Year 9 in 2025 or 2026, please get in touch with our Admissions Department for further details.
