At the end of the spring term, ‘Healthy Me Day’ saw a visit from nutritionist Jess who is part of our catering company Holroyd Howe. Boys from Pre-Prep through to Upper School listened to Jess talk about eating balanced meals, and she delivered ‘Nutrition 101’ to our Pre-Prep pupils, where they were challenged to name various coloured fruits and vegetables.
The Upper School pupils learnt about fuelling themselves for exams, looking at different energy sources and how they affect concentration levels. They looked at various foods and guessed their sugar contents, shocked by some of the answers. There is 31g of sugar in a Mars bar, and our recommended daily amount is 30g!
Years 1 to 8 enjoyed some surprising treats at lunchtime, including carrot and parsnip cake and pea, lemon and vanilla cupcakes.
