Iceland 2023

Posted: 15th May 2023

During the first week of the Easter break, 27 of our budding geographers and four staff members embarked on the ninth Dulwich Prep London Iceland Trip.

Over five days, the group explored the south coast, travelling from Hafnarfjörður to Vik and returning via the Golden Circle with knowledgeable guide Rosa. Amongst their many sights and experiences, the boys particularly enjoyed bathing in the Secret Lagoon’s geothermal waters, watching the Lava Show’s formation and exploring the power of waterfalls at Skógafoss and Gljúfrabúi.

However, the overwhelming highlight was climbing the lower reaches of the Sólheimajökull Glacier. The excitement of donning crampons, helmets and ice axes and learning first-hand about the beauty of glaciers and their fragility has formed lifelong memories for both the boys and staff.
