Reception Classes visit Greenwich

Posted: 6th February 2020

Greenwich-1

This term’s topic for our Reception boys has been ‘To infinity and beyond’, and to help them find out about the solar system, each class visited the Royal Observatory in Greenwich. They had the chance to explore three galleries looking at light in the universe and how the planets were formed. A highlight was definitely the immersive 360-degree cinema, where the boys watched the adventures of a little bear called Ted.  He travelled around the solar system explaining key facts and features of different planets and why we could only live on earth. The boys were also able to touch a meteorite which was 4.5 billion years old, about the same age as our sun and earth. After visiting the museum, walking through Greenwich park and enjoying their packed lunches, some rather tired but happy boys returned to school ready to share their adventures.
