Two Weeks in the Life of Prep+

Posted: 20th March 2019

Prep-plus-tour

It’s been a very busy and varied time with Prep+ for the boys and parents who have had the opportunity to experience a great cross-section of events that London has to offer over the last ten days.

A trip to ‘Thriller the Musical’ had the audience (us included) dancing in the aisles. The next evening a very different group of boys and parents came to The Royal Institution for a Friday evening Maths lecture by Matt Parker called ‘Humble Pi – When Maths go wrong’. Very funny, very interesting and about to be taken in another version to the Edinburgh Fringe. Do look up the Royal Institution they do great Science and maths lectures with very practical activities and performances for adults and children especially in the holidays. A Sunday trip to the Stoop to watch Harlequins v Gloucester is always a popular sporting visit and the blustery, but sunny, day made up for a Harlequins loss! Our next outing was to County Hall for Agatha Christie’s Witness for the Prosecution’. We are all sworn to secrecy about the ending but what an amazing and unique location to set a play about a court case in!  On Sunday morning, the wonderful Philippa Owen took parents, boys and staff around the Tower of London. Tales from history of famous inmates (including the ravens), executions, the architecture and layers of history within and outside of the walls made for fascinating and entertaining listening. Oh, and we saw and learned about the Crown Jewels too!

The Prep+ summer term programme will be with you at the end of the term. If you or your son have never been do book and come along. Once bitten, you’ll find lots of things to experience that you may never do as a family. To the regulars, see again soon!
