Swimming victory in the National Finals

Posted: 15th June 2018

On Saturday the boys from Years 5-8 swam in the IAPS National Swimming Finals at the London Aquatic Centre. It was an amazing experience for the boys against the best swimmers in Prep school swimming: 4000 children from 400 schools took part in 32 qualifying galas with 1500 children reaching the National Finals! All the boys swam brilliantly and improved their entry times and achieved personal bests.

In the relays the U11s came 3rd in the Medley and 1st in their Freestyle. The U12s came 2nd in both and the U10s (5th Medley, 8th Freestyle) and 13s (5th Medley and 6th Freestyle) were just outside the medals.

In the individuals we had six finalists: Luke (7th), Sebastian (8th), Ethan (5th), Vedanth (7th) and James (7th). Peter and Mason also managed to pick up medals in their individuals. Peter came third in the U12 50m Backstroke and Mason was crowned National Champion in the U12 50m Freestyle.

In the final points tally the U12s came second by just one point and overall we finished runners up improving our third place finish last year.

A huge congratulations to all the boys involved and well done for all the hard work they have put in over the year.
