Year 7 visit the V & A Museum

Posted: 27th November 2018

The Year 7 Creative Rotation boys spent a really interesting and stimulating day at the Creative Quarter of the V & A Museum last week.  They took part in drop-in workshops including: building cardboard furniture with Kingston design students (including card plugs and lamps), constructing elements for a floating city with graphic designers, and designing prototypes of innovative transport systems.

They then attended really interesting talks by a fascinating product designer who showed them amazing projected images of fish that responded to environment, and a Jaguar engineer with a passion for motorcycles.

Two of the highlights were working with a fashion designer who made clothes from recycled plastic and boasted Lady Gaga and Nicki Minaj as clients. The boys created beautifully styled designs for headpieces and garments that we will proudly display.

Finally, we worked with designers from Seymour Powell to create a Virtual Reality model of the transport designs we had sketched earlier.

It was really inspirational, active and fun!
