First round of the ProCorda Chamber Music Competition

Posted: 7th February 2017

On Sunday 5th February Dulwich Prep Music School hosted one of the eleven first rounds of the nationwide ProCorda Chamber Music  Competition.  The boys of Dulwich Prep are fortunate to be introduced to the world of Chamber Music at such a young age; the skills and demands required should not be underestimated.  Five chamber groups took part and we heard some very stylish playing from all our ensembles.  Every performer is to be congratulated.  We are delighted to hear that the Year 8 String Quartet comprising Finlay, Josh, Nicholas-Sejong and Jack, have been selected to proceed to the semi-final stage to be held after half term.  The Adjudicator Raphael Todes (Allegri String Quartet, Teacher at the Junior Royal Academy of Music & Westminster School) was fulsome in his praise for some splendidly assured performances from all our boys.
