Golf Day raises £9000

Posted: 24th May 2017

17 pairs of DPL boys and fathers played a 12 hole competition in rain and wind and helped 10 Dulwich golfing Ladies and 16 corporate teams raise £9,000 for Sparrow, one of the school’s charities. Tom G and his father Tresham, with 21 stableford points, won the Sparrow Trophy on count back from Nicky and Greg, while Archie and Tom came in third just one point behind. Ollie won the Putting Competition and Nick and Tom won the longest drive and nearest the pin holes respectively. Despite the appalling conditions the competition was played in great spirit and one young player told his mother he had had the best fun ever! Thanks go to Dulwich & Sydenham Hill Golf Club for hosting the day, to the Prep musicians under the direction of Sparrow Trustee and Director of Music, Philip Brooke, who gave voluntarily of their time and music expertise to entertain the guests and to Tom Savill and Levi Olver who once again acted as scrutineers in checking the scores and certifying the winning cards.
