ISFA U11 National Finals

Posted: 15th May 2023

On Monday 1 May, our U11 Football Squad ventured to St George’s Park to compete in the ISFA National Schools Finals, which they qualified for earlier this academic year.

The group set off the day before the tournament started and was treated to a quick tour of St George’s Park, followed by some bowling.

The team did very well in the group stages, winning three games, drawing one game and losing one game, winning their group and progressing to the quarter-finals with 10 points. The team scored an impressive seven goals whilst only conceding one.

The quarter-final match was very competitive in which both teams had chances to score, but neither could break the deadlock. This meant the game went straight to penalties, where, unfortunately, the team lost 4-3 with the opposition goalkeeping saving one of our penalties – a challenging way to finish the tournament after several impressive performances by the boys but a fantastic experience.

Coaches Mr Whitehead and Mr Crane said that “Each boy was a credit to the school, displaying the school Values superbly through great sportsmanship and by being brilliant teammates. All the boys gave their very best and have made amazing progress since the start of the year. We are extremely proud of them.”
