Chinese New Year

Posted: 29th January 2020

EY-NY-1

On Friday 24th January in assembly Early Years were lucky enough to have some parents teach us about Chinese New Year. They explained how homes are cleaned, new clothes are bought and special meals are shared with their families. The boys and girls all receive a little red envelope with money hidden inside to symbolize good luck and to keep them safe. They also told us that they celebrate with fireworks and watch a colourful dragon dance.

Early Years have also embraced the animal for this Chinese New Year, the rat. In our entrance area is a vibrant display of rats in all shapes and sizes, made from collage, fabric, paint, glitter and string. If you have a moment pop into Early Years and take a look, the display will be here all week.
