Record Exam Results

Posted: 14th February 2020

On one of the busiest days for results in the local area, Dulwich Prep London is proud to announce its best ever 13+, 11+ and pre-test results (with most schools yet to announce their pre-test results of course).

We are extremely proud of the boys and their record achievements, but we are also acutely aware of how some of our boys and parents, especially in Year 6, might be feeling about their individual results. We will of course continue to liaise with the schools and support these boys and parents to discern the best possible next steps.

In Year 8, 68 boys took exams for a variety of different London day schools. The boys have received 136 offers in total, with 54 from Dulwich College alone, the most (in recent memory) for the Prep. There were also 70 awards, another school record, made to 36 different boys, more than half of the field. These were divided as follows: 34 academic; 1 Art; 1 DT; 16 Sport; 14 Music; 1 Drama; and 3 all-round awards.

In Year 6, only Dulwich College, KCS and Whitgift announced their pre-test results today, adding to a handful of schools that have already announced. It is therefore fabulous that these results are also already a school record. So far, 49 boys have received 69 offers, many of which are unconditional (although the parents and school may choose not to tell the boys this – at least not yet!). In Year 7, 7 boys have received 12 offers so far.

The 11+ results were also a record, with 22 boys receiving 25 offers. There were also 6 scholarships awarded: 2 academic; 1 Drama; 2 Music; and 1 Sport. Even though these boys and families will be very proud of these offers, we expect that some, maybe even most, of these pupils will opt to remain at Dulwich Prep in Years 7 and 8.

Finally, there was a further music award made at 10+ too, bringing the total number of awards won at this stage to 77 offered to 43 different boys (both school records).

There will be more announcements about further offers and awards in due course.
