We are always looking for ways to make our school more Eco friendly and our Year 5 boys have embarked on a whole year of thinking sustainably in DT. Their first project was a challenge to create a bug hotel for the school garden using only re-used materials. We found timber from the palettes that the school builders used for bricks and sand. We then asked our wonderful site team to provide us with suitably-sized branches from our playing fields. The boys worked in teams to create beautiful boxes that our amazing technician, Ms Scott put together to form a bug hotel wall in our school allotment, which will weather and settle and hopefully form a habitat for our own ecosystem. With new building and developments last year we hope to have supplemented the bugs natural habitats.
