Catering

Our caterer Holroyd Howe works with Dulwich Prep London to create a thoughtful, vibrant and flexible catering offer uniquely tailored to the needs of our pupils. Our catering team prepares handcrafted dishes daily from ethically sourced natural ingredients. Menu planning focuses on delicious meals that are nutritious, sustainable, inclusive and fun. In addition, the team enjoy bringing ingredients and dishes to life with engaging themed events and activities.

Our menus work on a three-week rolling basis and offer a wide variety of ingredients and cooking styles to ensure that pupils receive a balanced diet, learn about various cuisines, and form positive relationships with food. The menus feature an array of delicious soups, freshly baked bread, wholesome main courses, exciting puddings, and a wide range of fresh salads and fruit.

We support a range of dietary requirements, and staff enjoy the same food as our pupils. There are robust procedures in place for families with children with specific food allergies or intolerances to ensure that your child’s meals are carefully prepared.

Due to the limited size of our food preparation and storage areas, we are unable to guarantee that we can prevent the mixing of Halal food with non-Halal food. We are, therefore, unfortunately not able to offer Halal as part of our catering provision. For children who follow a Halal (or other) diet, we offer a full range of fish and vegetarian options, including a daily jacket potato or pasta option. We ensure that this provides a balanced diet, including sufficient protein.

We would welcome parents to come and visit the school’s dining facilities, meet our caterers and sample the delicious range of food available to our children.

All meals are freshly prepared on-site using:

  • Farm-assured meat from UK sources;
  • Eggs from RSPCA Freedom Farms with the Red Lion Quality Mark;
  • Milk from Red Tractor Accredited Farms;
  • Sustainable fish;
  • Seasonal fruit and vegetables;
  • Locally sourced produce where possible.

Pupils in the Early Years are served a hot meal each lunchtime with crudités.

Dulwich Prep & Senior Announcement

We are delighted to share that we will be extending our provision from ages 3-13 to ages 2-16. Our first Year 9 cohort will start in September 2025.

As a highly commended school at this year’s Independent School of the Year Awards, we are excited to share that we will become Dulwich Prep & Senior.

We will continue to be a school of choice, maintaining our exceptional Prep offering with the option of staying to GCSE. Our support of families in finding the right senior school or sixth form at the right time for their sons will remain at our core, whether that be at ages 11, 13 or 16.

Our key entry points will be Nursery, Reception, Year 3, Year 7 and Year 9. Occasional places may be available in other year groups.

If you would like your son to be one of our ‘Trailblazers’ and join Year 9 in 2025 or 2026, please get in touch with our Admissions Department for further details.
